For those with Questions

Where will the makerspace be?

We’ve secured a lease on the first floor of the former Technigraph building at 850 W 3rd St, next to Restore.

When will the makerspace open?

If we’re able to raise enough funds for our tools and for basic remodeling, we expect to take possession of the space September 2025 and to open in late 2025.

Why should I become a member early?

We can only open the space if we have confidence we can pay rent each month, and having founders helps us cover our expenses. It also allows us to focus fundraising on tools and space preparation expenses, instead of operating expenses.

What if the makerspace doesn’t end up opening?

If the makerspace doesn’t end up opening, we’ll be refunding your membership. We’re committed to not using membership fees to cover our startup costs.

Are Founders Memberships Limited?

Founders memberships are capped at 100 members, and will not be sold after the space is opened. Regular membership price is slated to be $125 / mo or $1250 / year prepaid (and won’t have the same benefits)

What about a Student / senior discount?

We anticipate having discounts in the future, but have not yet devised them. If you become a founders membership, and a future membership tier comes out that better fits you, we’ll move you over to that other tier

Do you sell memberships for companies or nonprofits?

We do! Businesses and nonprofits can buy Institutional Memberships to access the makerspace and the resources.

Is $100/mo “Too Much” for Winona?

When we compared with other makerspaces providing 24/7 access to this many tools, we’re right in the same range. But we get it, not everyone can pay that cost. We’re committed to offering scholarships, discounts, and volunteer opportunities to give equitable access to the community.

I want to help, but can’t become a member. WHat can I do?

If you can help monetarily, you can always make a tax deductible donation to our startup. And if time is the best way to help, you can always look at our volunteer page for jobs you can help with.
