Tools and Tool Drive

Got Extra Tools?

Give them a second life with local makers!
Tool Drive: October 28 – 29, 2025

About the tool drive

Help us equip Winona’s first community makerspace by donating your unneeded tools. From hammers and screwdrivers to bandsaws and sewing machines, we welcome any functional tools related to fiber arts, woodworking, metals, electronics, glass, and ceramics. Donations to our nonprofit are tax deductible!

How will tools be used?

Tools that can be used by our eight studio areas will become a part of the makerspace. Other tools that are best for home use (rakes, small power tools, etc.) will become part of a take-home tool library. Any tools that can’t be used by the nonprofit will either be donated to another nonprofit, or sold to raise funds for new tools.

What do we need?

Our needs are wide: not only are we looking for tools for our studios, we need some furniture and a few appliances as well! Take a look at the list for our top priorities for the space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I drop off tools?

Drop off tools at our space, 850 W 3rd St in Winona. You can pull to the back of the building and drop off at our loading door.

Can I drop off broken tools, or tools missing parts?

Sorry, but we can only accept working tools that have their safety devices intact.

I have a tool to donate that isn’t listed – can I donate it?

Possibly! If it’s a smaller tool, bring it to the event and we can decide if we can accept it. If it’s a large tool, send a photo to info@winonacreators.org so you don’t load it up in a truck for nothing.

I have a large tool to donate and no truck – can you pick up tools?

Winona Creators Collective does not have our own truck yet, so picking up tools at a house is difficult. Please reach out to info@winonacreators.org with a photo and information on the tools you want picked up and donated.

Are you taking supplies? (Wood, bolts, etc.)

We need some construction supplies, but they are very specific needs. Please contact us at info@winonacreators.org and let us know what you have!
